Amphibious Bridge

Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture

Semester Long Studio Project

2020

Rhino 6, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

This project called for the development of a bridge from Six Mile Island, a small, isolated island in the Allegheny River, to the nearby shoreline in Pittsburgh, PA.

Throughout the development of this project, my goal was to create a liminal space, not only between island and shore, but more importantly between air and water.

This liminality is an opportunity for humans to be placed in an uncomfortable environment where they are asked to experience a space that is designed to serve aquatic life and plant growth.
